I'm in the process of becoming Roman Catholic, and I didn't know what a "Servant of God" was until I got a "prayer card" from an organization that spotlighted Fr. Vincent. A Servant of God is a person who has died, but who - in death - has "helped" people in some way. The Catholic church researches these "events" and thru some process decides he/she can be named "a Servant of God." I think it may be a "stepping stone" to sainthood (though I imagine not all Servants become Saints). Anyway, Fr. Vincent has "helped" me twice in miraculous ways -- so he is currently my favorite "person." :-)
Oooooh, ice cream! Please eat some for me -- I don't eat it anymore. But it is surely one of the finest pleasures in life, yes? :-) As it cools your insides, let the outside warm to SPRING!!! Hurry, spring! We're all waiting!!! :-)
Your English is FABulous! But that's cuz you're not an American. LOL! Ever hear the old joke??
A: What do you call someone who can speak 2 languages?
B: Bilingual.
A: What do you call someone who can speak 3 language?
B: Trilingual.
A: What do you call someone who can only speak 1 language?
B: An American.
:-) :-) :-) So to you, I say BRAVO! [Uh, brava?] :-)
Yesterday is was in the high 50's F. This weekend is supposed to bring snow and rain. Oh, well. We'll have to wait a bit longer for spring. I know how it is to be restless in late winter...waiting for spring. - S
"Summit AT Carmen's Garden" vs. Summit IN Carmen's Garden"....
You're right -- there is a distinction! I think "summits" sound more important if they are "AT" a location. That's just my two cents. Great brain teaser for me! [A linguist!] :-)
Oh, I *love* how Virtual-Arvada came into being! That's a riot! :-)
And I love the title of the upcoming festival in your garden!! Wonderful imagery. It deserves a stamp made in its honor with a large mailing. :-) [Gotta love MailArt!]
Ohhhhh, JP, CR, I get it. :-)
How nice to go to Norway every summer! I have a friend in Trondheim, never been there though... She and I used to email a lot -- fallen away now for some time. That's how it goes, I guess.
Love the idea of your Norwegian diary!! I like making books. Or covering blank books...
Your profile says "Arvada, US" -- were you from there? My family was from Denver (tho I was born in NYC and have stayed East). - Susan
Wow, 3 comments from you -- thank you. :-) I'm afraid I lost you when you talked about "JP" and "CR'. I must be losing my grip. I checked out Etsy -- I'm pretty sure I'll join some day. Right now I have a webpage but I haven't done anything with it for years....[beadsbysuzy] Your son is in Norway! So far away... Do you visit him there? My daughter and her two children are only an hour's drive from here. I know I"m spoiled. But when we lived in Virginia, it was a 3-hour drive one way! That was hard. My sister is a 2-hour drive, but my brother is all the way across the country in California. Thanks for writing!
